LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Culture, music, and fitness -- you can sample all three in Louisville this Labor Day weekend.

The 14th annual WorldFest kicks off Friday, Aug. 2 at 1 a.m. and runs through Monday evening. WorldFest is one of the largest international festivals in the country, with more than 70 bands, 30 food vendors, and nearly 100 booths showcasing lots of different countries.

Mayor Greg Fischer says a naturalization ceremony will take place Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Ali Center. That's when more than 300 immigrants will become U.S. Citizens.

And on Saturday, you can catch the "Parade of Cultures" with people from all over the world, living right here in our community, will fly their country's flags as they parade through downtown Louisville.

With 35 percent of the city's population growth in recent years coming from countries across the world, Mayor Fischer says Louisville is more culturally diverse than ever before.

"Any great 21st century city is one that welcomes both the refugee and the naturalized citizen," Fischer said. "The internationals range from PhD's to refugees in our city."

And on Monday, city officials are encouraging everyone to head to Waterfront Park for the Mayor's Hike, Bike and Paddle. Lots of activities start at 8 a.m., with the kayak and canoe portion kicking off at 10 a.m.

Fischer says they're expecting 10,000 to 15,000 people. This year there's a new app to help you navigate traffic and routes. The free app is called: EQ LOUISVILLE.

All four days of World Fest are also free.
