LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local hardware store is giving back to two local charities.

Brownsboro Hardware & Paint raised more than $20,000 earlier this month during its 8th Annual EGGFest. On Wednesday morning, more than $13,000 was donated to Blessings in a Backpack, and almost $7,000 given to A Recipe to End Hunger.

The owner says its his way of showing support for local causes.

"We feel like we're an intricate part of the community and we like to give back to the community," said Jim Lehrer, owner of Brownsboro Hardware. "Local businesses should always support local causes. And it's just our way of giving back to this great community and Louisville."

Both charities provide meals to Louisville youth in need.
