LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Students and staff at Kenwood Elementary School had to make a few adjustments Friday after a water line was damaged.

According to JCPS spokeswoman Allison Martin, a construction crew working outside the school hit a water line that serves the school, interrupting service.

Martin says toilets are functioning, but hand washing stations have been set up throughout the building, and the school had pizza brought in for lunch. Two pallets of bottled water were also brought in.

Martin says water service should be restored before students return to class on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the Louisville Water Company says no other customers were affected.
