LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Star Spangled Banner took on new meaning for dozens of people from around the world of Friday who became U.S. citizens at the Muhammad Ali Center.

One-hundred and fifty-six people from 45 different countries were sworn in at the naturalization ceremony. Speakers included former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao.

"I've been here for 15 years, and even though I feel I'm part of the country, being able to claim, 'yes, I am like everybody else, I am a U.S. citizen, I can vote like everybody else,' means a lot," said Cecile Kejzlar, who became a citizen today.

There were more people from Cuba becoming U.S. citizens than any other country.
