Jeffersontown Police Department honored at Saturday's farmers market

Posted: Updated:

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thank You Blue: Thanking the men and women of the Jefferstown Police Department was the theme of Saturday's J-Town Farmers Market.

As always, there was music and food, but this time, people who showed up could hug a cop and sign a "thank you" card for the department.

"Our J-Town police department not only goes after the guys that are bad but they help the little old lady cross the street. They help the person that needs help on a day to day basis, so they are a part of our community just as everybody else is, so J-Town is a community policing city," Mayor Bill Dieruf said.

The Jeffersontown Farmers Market is held Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pavilion on Watterson Trail.
