JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Indiana's Lieutenant Governor paid a visit to the 2016 Steamboat Days Parade on Saturday.

Eric Holcomb is looking to take over as governor, now that Mike Pence is Donald Trump's running mate.

Holcomb says southern Indiana has played a big role in the state's success and he wants to keep it that way.

"It's parade season. And kind of not just the kickoff to football season, but it's also the official kickoff to the political season to the campaign season when you get into Labor Day weekend and we are just clicking on all cylinders and I'm so encouraged to keep the state moving full-steam ahead," Holcomb said.

The Republican Lieutenant Governor will face off in November against Democrat John Gregg and Libertarian Rex Bell.
