LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – Former UK offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson returned to Lexington Saturday and beat the man who fired him.

With Dawson now in charge of the Southern Miss offense, the Golden Eagles scored 34 unanswered points, beating Mark Stoops and the Wildcats at Commonwealth Stadium 44-35.

Senior quarterback Nick Mullens overcame three first half interceptions to finish the game with 258 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Wildcats led at one point 35-10 but never scored again after a late second quarter touchdown from senior running back Jojo Kemp
