LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The suspect accused of killing a 45-year-old man in his Fairdale home pleaded not guilty on Monday to murder and tampering with physical evidence.
Joshua Goodman, 29, is charged with killing Donald "Wayne" Box around 8 p.m. Friday in a mobile home in the 1300 block of Woodchester Way, which is northwest of the National Turnpike/I-265 interchange.
Goodman is being held on a $50,000 bond; he asked for a public defender to represent him.
Investigators say Goodman entered the victim's home and asked if his father was there. When Box said no and asked him to leave, a fight happened. That's when Goodman shot Box.
Wayne Box’s daughter, Kayla Box, says her dad just knew how to make people smile and that his death came as a surprise.
“Very energetic, very friendly, he wanted everybody to know that he was friendly,” Kayla Box said.
Funeral arrangements for Box are pending.
