LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) –Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops believes the biggest issue facing his Wildcats is their inability to bounce when things aren’t going their way.
Stoops was not happy with the way his team played in the second half in the loss to Southern Miss. When things got tough, they seemed to go against fundamentals and back in some bad habits.
“When things go wrong, we have guys on there that start doing some things that are inexcusable,” said Stoops at his weekly press conference. “That’s a losing mentality that we will not tolerate and that’s got to change.”
And it has to change quickly.
Kentucky is back in action Saturday against 25th ranked Florida. The Wildcats (0-1) haven’t beaten the Gators (1-0) in 30 years but they have played them tough in their last two head to head meetings.
“If we go execute and play the very best that we can then we will have a great opportunity. And if we don’t, then we will have no chance.”
Kickoff is set for 3:30 Saturday in Gainesville
