LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville football team climbed six spots to No. 13 in the latest College Football Top 25 from the Associated Press.

It's the highest national ranking for the Cardinals since they were ranked No. 8 on Oct. 12, 2013, right before losing a 38-35 home-field matchup to Central Florida.

Alabama maintained the No. 1 spot in the poll, with Clemson at No. 2 and Florida State at No. 3. Houston was the poll's biggest mover, climbing to No. 6, giving Louisville three upcoming games against Top 6 teams. Charlie Strong's Texas Longhorns jumped from unranked to No. 11 on the strength of their victory over Notre Dame.

The ACC has four teams in the poll, with Miami entering the rankings at No. 25.

The SEC has Alabama, then Georgia at No. 9, then Ole Miss, Texas A&M and LSU at the 19-21 spots. The Big Ten has Ohio State at No. 4, Michigan at No. 5, Wisconsin at No. 10, Michigan State at No. 12, and Iowa at No. 16.
