LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested one of their own for a domestic violence assault.

According to an arrest warrant, the incident took place on Sunday, Sept. 4, just before midnight.

Police say 27-year-old Dezmon Moore got into an argument with his wife. When she decided to leave, he allegedly grabbed her purse and keys, telling her that she wasn't going to take the car. At that point, police say Moore grabbed her by the arm, "causing pain and visible injury."

He then allegedly threw a bottle against the wall.

Police say the victim went outside and called Louisville Metro Police. According to the arrest warrant, she suffered a bruise, swelling and soreness to her arm.

A warrant was issued for Moore's arrest on Monday, and he was taken into custody later that day. He is charged with fourth degree assault. He was later released on his own recognizance and ordered not to have contact with the victim.

Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says Moore is an LMPD officer. He has since been placed on administrative reassignment.
