Bullitt County needs poll workers for upcoming election

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bullitt County needs more poll workers for the November election.

County Clerk Kevin Mooney says he's looking for about 260 people to cover 48 precincts. Workers get paid $25 for training and $125 if they get assigned to work on election day.

You must live in Bullitt County to be eligible.

"You don't realize how many people get sick or have emergencies in their lives and then become unable to serve in that last day or two or at 4:30 in the morning when they call you and tell you they can't come, so it's the alternates that are as important as the people we have scheduled in the precincts," Mooney said.

If you are interested, you can call the Bullitt County clerk's office at (502) 543-2513. Training starts in October.
