LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Campbellsville Police say they've arrested a burglary suspect after he stabbed a woman approximately seven times in the head and neck area.

But the suspect claims it was a case of self-defense.

According to an arrest report, it happened Monday, Sept. 5, at a home in the 200 block of Bell Avenue in Campbellsville. Police say 29-year-old Timothy Davis got into an argument with a woman at the home. The argument evolved into a fight, according to the arrest report. That's when, police say, Davis stabbed the woman.

She was flown to University Hospital for treatment as a result of her injuries.

Police say when they questioned Davis on Tuesday, Davis said he committed the act in self-defense.

He was arrested Tuesday and charged with first degree assault and second degree burglary.

The condition of the victim is not known.
