LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A vacant lot that's been transformed into a lively social space opens to the public Thursday.

The most recent ReSurfaced project is part of a city program that turns empty lots into something temporarily useful.

This time, the spot is a lot on South Shelby Street that has been turned into a year-round soccer field.

The grand opening ceremony is at 5 p.m.

Louisville City FC will kick off the opening weekend with a two-day tournament on the field.
