West Louisville woman feeds youth football team for free

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A selfless act to give back is keeping a local youth football team in west Louisville from going hungry.
Every Thursday night at Algonquin Park for the past month, Donniesha Edwards-Morris surrounds herself with some hard-hitting 5-to 11-year-old kids who make up the Louisville Packers youth football team.
She doesn't have a kid on the team, but each week Edwards-Morris and her volunteers whip up a family-style dish. There's no cost to the kids, it's just her way of saying she cares.
The food is comfort after practice. It's the message after the meal that she wants the little players to take with them both on and off the field.
"Never think about yourself," Edwards-Morris said. "Always think about somebody else."
Since she started feeding the team for free, she says two groups have come forward to help out. However, those donors have asked to stay private.
