Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are asking for the public's help to identify two people caught on camera using a credit card stolen from a vehicle in the city's east end.

According to LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley, police began noticing an uptick in car break-ins in Lake Forest and other east end neighborhoods around Aug. 20. Since then, Smiley says nearly a dozen cars have been targeted, with the thieves taking purses, electronics and other items.

Police say they now have surveillance images of two suspects using a credit card stolen from one of the vehicles.

If you recognize the suspects shown in the images in this story, you're asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 502-574-5673,
