Rally for Recovery held at Muhammad Ali Center to celebrate new beginnings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Celebrating new beginnings and embracing a life without substance abuse.

"Prevention works. Treatment works. And recovery is possible," Scott Hesseltine, with Seven Counties Services, said.

This year's Statewide Rally for Recovery was all about getting those messages across.

Louisville's rally was held Saturday afternoon at the Muhammad Ali Center.

Recovery and counseling centers provided information on services available.

And people came together to share their stories of recovery and honor those who weren't so fortunate.

"People don't feel like there is hope. That there's another side. That this is gonna be the rest of my life and I'm miserable and I just don't know where to go and how to get help but to know that there are options," Tara Moseley said.

At least a dozen agencies were involved.

The Rally for Recovery is held every September.
