JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- A Southern Indiana pool has really gone to the dogs.

Saturday, residents were invited to bring their dogs for the final dip of the season at the Jeffersonville Aquatic Center for their annual Pooch Plunge.

Roughly 200 to 300 dogs were expected to participate today.

Organizers say the event is always a good time for pet owners and their four legged friends.

"Even if your dog doesn't like to swim, this is a very social event. It's a great socialization thing for your pet. We drain the pool the week after, so might as well let somebody else have a good time in the pool before we drain it for the year," said Director Nikki Lurding.

The Jeffersonville Aquatic Center has been hosting the Pooch Plunge for about 10 years.
