LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested after police say he stabbed a victim several times.

Johnny Stamps, 62, was arrested Monday. The official police report says Stamps allegedly stabbed the victim on Sunday.

According to police, Stamps "was involved in a verbal altercation with an employee" at an Advance Auto Parts store located on Poplar Level Road.

Officials say the argument escalated. Authorities say Stamps was recorded on video "running out of the store pulling something out of his pocket to engage the victim."

Police say the victim was stabbed several times. As a result, the victim's liver was lacerated. Investigators say Stamps was the primary aggressor inside the store and that he continued outside.

Authorities say a knife has disappeared and that Stamps does not know where it is.

Stamps is charged with first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence. He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $50,000 cash bond and is expected in court on Tuesday.
