Pence says Clinton's comments about Trump supporters should disqualify her
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence spoke on Capitol Hill Tuesday.
The Indiana Governor was there to meet with House Republican leadership. In a closed-door meeting, he told lawmakers what he's learned about his running mate, Donald Trump.
When speaking to the media afterward, Pence brought up Hillary Clinton's comment calling half of Trump supporters a "basket of deplorables."
"For Hillary Clinton to express such disdain for millions of Americans is one more reason it disqualifies her to serve in the highest office of the land," Pence said. "Anyone who has that low of an opinion of the American people should never serve as president of the United States of America."
Pence also met with Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who still refuses to endorse Trump, citing personal attacks the billionaire made against him and his family.
