LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The owners of a local craft store are donating $5,000 in grants to 10 JCPS schools so teachers will be able to buy additional art supplies.

Several years ago, the owners of Dee's -- Kathy and Larry Olliges -- partnered with a local art teacher on the design of a T-shirt that features Louisville scenes, which is sold along with other related items in their store.

Half of the proceeds from the sale of those items then go to support elementary school art programs across Louisville.

The Olliges' worked with Melissa Gano, a districtwide arts curriculum specialist, to identify the 10 schools that will each receive a $500 grant. The schools include: Hazelwood, Roosevelt-Perry, Trunnell, Kenwood, Camp Taylor, Klondike Lane, Wheatley, Portland, King and Price elementary schools.

The Jefferson County Board of Education honored the Olliges' for their contribution to JCPS during Tuesday night's school board meeting, which was held at Lincoln Elementary School.
