LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say one person was shot inside a mobile phone store in the Highlands Friday morning.

It happened at the Sprint store at the corner of Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway at around 11 a.m.

Crime scene tape blocked off the sidewalk in front of the Sprint Store. Several police cars were parked out front, and officers are interviewing employees from the store. One employee was seen crying in the parking lot.

An employee at the Comfy Cow next to the Sprint Store tells WDRB that several police officers and an ambulance rushed to the scene Friday morning. Officers on the scene told WDRB that only the Louisville Police public information officer can disclose information about the incident. 

Anthony Whiteside is charged with assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon as as well as numerous traffic charges.

He left the Sprint store and officials say he led police on a chase.

He then crashed at 18th and Muhammad Ali Boulevard before being arrested on foot.

The shooting victim is expected to be OK.
