Shepherdsville city council members approve property tax rate -- but town still doesn't have mayor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shepherdsville City Council members have come together to approve a property tax rate.

The council held two special meetings Thursday and Friday.

The City Clerk says the property tax was lowered from 14 cents per $100 of assessed value to 13.9 cents -- and council members kept the personal property tax rate at 13.6 cents.

Bills are expected to be mailed out in the next couple of weeks.

Shepherdsville still doesn't have a Mayor, as the council decides if it will appoint someone in 30 days or let the Governor do it.
