LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- West Louisville is celebrating a re-birth of one of its most vital businesses.

Friday marked the grand opening of a Cash Saver grocery store on Wilson Avenue in the Park DuValle neighborhood. The store opened as a First Choice Market in 2012, in an effort to bring a full-service grocery to an underserved area -- but councilwoman Jessica Green says it's up to local residents to keep it here.

"I wanted to really encourage all of our constituents in West Louisville...let's patronize this business that's here," Green said. "Let's do our shopping here. Let's let them know that we want them to be here, and that west Louisville can sustain businesses. We want them to stay and so we've got to support them."

The Cash Saver is owned by a southern Indiana family grocery company that's been around for 75 years.
