Man accused of firing gun inside Bardstown Road Sprint store facing new charge

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man accused of firing a gun inside a Sprint store on Bardstown Road is facing another charge.

Anthony Whiteside already faced several charges, including assault, when he appeared before a judge Saturday morning. Police say Whiteside walked into the store Friday, asked questions, then started shooting, hitting one man.

That man is expected to survive.

Whiteside is accused of then running from police, crashing his car near the intersection of S. 18th Street and W. Muhammad Ali.

During arraignment this morning, the judge said the county upgraded one of Whiteside's assault charges, while also adding another.

He scheduled to appear in court again later this month.
