LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials with JCPS and LMPD are investigating an incident in which someone reportedly followed one of the district's school buses with a weapon after classes dismissed on Tuesday.

Allison Martin, a spokeswoman with JCPS, confirms the incident happened shortly after the bus left Minor Daniels Academy, 1960 Bashford Manor Lane, around 2:20 pm.

"We have reports that a person followed a Minor Daniels Academy bus this afternoon," Martin said. "There are reports that this person may have had a weapon. The bus driver noticed the car shortly after pulling out of the school."

A law enforcement source tells WDRB that the bus driver saw the driver of the car brandish a gun, then noticed the car follow the bus down Bashford Manor Lane to Newburg Road and then to the Watterson Expressway.

Martin said the driver was able to provide a description of the car -- a black Chevrolet Tahoe -- and that the district is "investigating with local police."
