LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A gas station turned into a crime scene Tuesday evening after a person was stabbed.

It happened in the parking lot of the Thornton's on Preston Highway.

LMPD says the victim has non-life threatening injuries, Blood could be seen smeared on one of the windows of the food mart at the gas station, but LMPD says the victim has non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials added that it started with two people fighting in the Thornton's parking lot. A third person was stabbed when he or she tried breaking up the fight. The main suspect left before police arrived.

"They were running for the bus stop, and the bus was coming, so they are long gone," one witness said. 

Two women who didn't want to use their name said the person who was stabbed was laying on the sidewalk right in front of Thornton's food mart. 

They could not comment on the weapon that was used in the stabbing.

"I really don't know. I didn't get all the details," one witness added.
