LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash along I-65 South near Columbus.

Police say one person was killed and two others were hurt.

It happened late Wednesday morning on I-65 South at the 68 mile marker near Columbus, according to police. The southbound lanes of the highway reopened after 2:30 p.m.

Authorities say the crash involved one passenger vehicle and two commercial vehicles. The person who was killed and the two people who were injured are believed to have been traveling in the same vehicle, according to police. Columbus, Ind., police said two medical helicopters flew to the scene. There was no immediate word on the extent of the injuries.
