LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A registered sex offender based in Frankfort, Kentucky, is accused of trying to arrange a meeting with an undercover officer, thinking that officer would allow him access to a 15-year-old boy, for the purpose of engaging in sexual relations.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place just before noon on Wednesday. The Kentucky Office of the Attorney General says 32-year-old Douglas Ray Judy, Jr. unwittingly got into a discussion with an undercover officer on social media.

That officer was posing as an adult male with a 15-year-old nephew, according to the arrest report.

Authorities say Judy arranged to meet the undercover officer for the purpose of engaging in sexual relations with the man's nephew. Instead, at that meeting, Judy was arrested.

According to the arrest report, he admitted to having two e-mail addresses that had not been registered with his probation and parole officer -- a violation of the sex offender registry, on which Judy is listed.

Judy was charged with engaging in the prohibited use of an electronic communications system to procure a minor or peace officer for a sexual offense, as well as two counts of failing to comply with the sex offender registry.

According to the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, Judy was already a registered sex offender for being convicted for first degree sexual abuse. The victim in that case was nine years old.
