LMAS holds candlelight vigil to remember shelter animals not adopted

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Animal Services held a candlelight vigil Thursday to remember the shelter animals that don't find their forever homes.

The annual event is part of a global movement to remind communities of the millions of pets still waiting for homes.

"There are thousands of animals that don't have shelter, that don't have someone to love them like they should," said Kayla Horton, LMAS Animal Care Coordinator. "So we do events like this to remind ourselves how much we still need to fight ... how much is still left to be done."

If you'd like to help, LMAS says it's always in need of foster homes for its animals. You can sign up on LMAS's website or at its adoption center.
