Police say that after fleeing the scene, he caused two more crashes.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- State police say they have arrested a driver who drove the wrong way from one crash and caused two more crashes in Floyd County, Ind., Friday morning.
That driver is in custody after a pursuit and foot chase, said Ind. State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin. The driver's name and charges will be released later Friday afternoon.
The situation started with a crash on I-64 between the U.S. 150 and State Road 64 exits.
The driver sped away from the crash scene, headed the wrong way, east in the westbound lanes of I-64, Goodin said. The driver's path continued to U.S. 150, where he drove the wrong way in the southbound lanes before crashing at Luther Road.
Officers arrested the man after a short foot chase.
The wrong-way journey caused two crashes along U.S. 150, Goodin said. The scenes were cleared by 1:15 p.m.
Further word is to come from Indiana State Police later Friday afternoon.
