LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- She brought home a gold medal. Now Olympic swimmer Kelsi Worrell is navigating new waters -- like being mobbed by well wishers.

Dozens of local students swarmed Worrell at the KFC Yum! Center Friday. She was the final speaker to wrap up Louisville's Women in Sports Week.

Middle- and grade-school students spent the week at events celebrating female athletes.

Women in Sports Week wrapped up with the former U of L swimmer sharing autographs and advice with young athletes.

"You don't need to focus 100 percent on your sport," she told students. "You can really enjoy life too, and do other things and be a normal kid."

Worrell helped Team USA win gold in the women's 4 X 100 meters medley relay.
