Stave & Thief Society to hold blind bourbon tasting contest
How well do you know your bourbon? Stave & Thief Society and The Still are hosting its first Bourbon Blind tasting contest.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- How well do you know your bourbon? Stave & Thief Society and The Still are hosting its first Bourbon Blind tasting contest on Thursday, September 29.
Bourbon experts and amateurs will be challenged to identify four different bourbons by sight, aroma and taste.
"We really love all things bourbon and we love teaching the classes and getting in here and distilling but we have very little opportunity to actually go out and interact with bourbon in a really fun, new, exciting way," Colin Blake said, Director of Spirits Education & Creative Services. "People always say 'they know their bourbon', they could pick it out of a long line-up and we haven't found that always to be the case. So, we wanted to put people to the test. So, we put this event together so people can come in and see if they really know what they think they know."
The grand prize is a Stave & Thief Society sensory kit, valued at $250. Admission is $50. Members of the Stave & Thief Society compete for $30.
The Bourbon Blind event will be held at The Still, which is located at Four Points by Sheraton, 2850 Crittenden Drive in Louisville. To register, click here.
