Some people say first responders using too many resources for heroin abusers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some people say first responders are using too many resources for heroin abusers.

Authorities say people have expressed frustration about rescuing addicts, who often immediately resume using the deadly drug.

Some say they're also concerned about the costs involved, including the money for the overdose antidote naloxone.

First responders across the country say they understand the frustration, but say their role is saving lives, not judging whether someone should be saved.
