WARSAW, Ky. (WDRB) -- Extra police will be at Gallatin County Schools Tuesday because of what the district calls a "vague threat of violence."

The district posted a message on its Facebook page about 11 p.m. Monday:

"We have received a vague threat of violence against Gallatin County Schools. The threat does not seem creditable but in order to ensure the safety of students and staff we take all threats seriously. We will have an increased law enforcement presence on campus and will be taking extra security measures in the schools. We are letting you know so everyone is aware of the situation. As always the safety and welfare of our students and staff is our top priority."

Gallatin County is north of Sparta, Kentucky.
