Indiana University Health Plans to bail out of Affordable Care Act marketplace

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana University Health Plans says it's leaving the Affordable Care Act marketplace.

The change is expected to affect about 27,000 people it covered as of June.

The health care provider says it won't offer individual plans on the exchange so it can adapt to the changing market.

IU Health Plans says it's telling customers to look for other coverage.

Major insurers have pulled out of many state exchanges because of rising costs.
