LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The University of Louisville is not the only area football team stirring national buzz. Keep an eye on a program that has sent many players to the Cardinals through the years, including receivers James Quick and Reggie Bonnafon on the 2016 team.

That would be Trinity High School.

That would be the team that climbed seven spots in the CBS Max Preps National Top 150. Trinity remains the unanimous, top-ranked team in WDRB High School football Top 10.

Winners of their first six, Trinity will try to push to 7-0 Friday night in the Shamrocks’ annual showdown against St. Xavier (4-1). The game will kick off at 8 p.m. at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

The rivals have played one common opponent — Pleasure Ridge Park. Trinity defeated PRP, 29-10, two weeks ago. St X handled the Panthers, 27-17, last Friday.

St. X, which lost to Bowling Green, remains third in the poll, behind No. 2 Male.

Here is this week’s WDRB Top 10, which includes a newcomer — Bardstown — after Brownstown Central (Ind.) lost to Seymour last week.
