LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The Trinity Shamrocks (6-0) are aiming for their fourth win in a row over Saint Xavier (4-1), dating back to the 2014 playoffs.

The two teams meet for their annual matchup Friday night.

Trinity head coach Bob Beatty has been part of this rivalry since taking over as head coach in 2000. He can predict how the game will begin

“It’s always ‘let’s get the first three or four plays out of our system and start breathing normally again and then get down to execute the blueprint’,” Beatty said.

St. X’s last win over Trinity came in October of 2014. The Tigers won 35-21 when quarterback Noah Houk passed for three touchdowns and running backs Blake Roshkowski and TaiJon Smith both rushed for a touchdown each.

“People congratulated me for about a month,” St X head coach Will Wolford said of that 2014 win. “I’ve received no congratulations since then,” he joked.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8pm at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
