LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Hardin County Sheriff's Office has arrested an Elizabethtown, Kentucky, man for impersonating a police officer.

According to an arrest report, 42-year-old Brian Palmersheim was arrested on Wednesday evening. Police say he had been driving a 2009 white Chevy Tahoe that was equipped with both red and blue lights, as well as a spotlight and a dashcam.

He also had been seen "pulling a subject over in his vehicle as if to impersonate a police officer," according to the arrest report.

Palmersheim is neither a sworn police officer, nor a fire fighter, authorities say.

Authorities arrested him near the corner of Valley Creek Road and Hawkins Drive just before 7:30 p.m. He is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center, charged with the improper use of red lights, the improper use of blue lights, and impersonating a peace officer.
