Inaugural Germantown Oktoberfest set for Saturday

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Achtung! The inaugural Germantown & Schnitzelburg Oktoberfest on Saturday invites the community to enjoy beer, food, live music and fun.

The event will include a beer garden, German inspired food, best German traditional dress, stein hoisting contest, Hammerschlagen game, stein relay race, sausage eating contest and barrel rolling and duck dance.

A portion of the proceeds benefits the Germantown Schnitzelburg Business Association.

Organizers don't want football fans to fret. That's why they're bringing in a giant screen to watch the big University of Louisville vs. Clemson University game in high definition.

Germantown & Schnitzelburg Oktoberfest is 4-11 p.m. at Goss Avenue and YesterNook.
