LMPD investigating after man suffers gunshot wound to chest
Officers responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man was shot in the chest.
LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says officers with the 3rd Division responded to a report of a shooting in the 7300 block of Southside Drive, near New Cut Road. Officers received a call about the shooting around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officials say when officers arrived at the scene, they located a man who had been shot in the chest. The man was taken to University Hopsital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Police have not identified a suspect.
The LMPD Major Crimes Unit is investigating the case. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the LMPD tip line at 574-LMPD (5673).
