Louisville man accused of stealing Frito-Lay box truck with $4,000 worth of merchandise inside

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man after they say he stole a Frito-Lay box truck.

According to an arrest report, the truck was stolen from behind the Kroger at 3616 Buechel Bypass. West Buechel Police say 59-year-old Ben Shaw stole the truck -- along with $4,000 worth of merchandise inside -- and then proceeded to cause damage to an overhang and lights at the Valero gas station near the intersection of Bardstown Road and Breckenridge Lane. 

Police say they spotted the stolen vehicle near the corner of Bardstown Road and Paris Drive, at around 3 p.m. Saturday.

According to the arrest report, Shaw was read his rights and admitted to stealing the truck.

He was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief. He's currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
