Fiance of convicted 'Making a Murderer' killer appears on Dr. Phil
Convicted killer Steven Avery's new fiance is speaking out about how she fell in love with a man sentenced to life behind bars.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Convicted killer Steven Avery's new fiance is speaking out about how she fell in love with a man sentenced to life behind bars.
Lynn Hartman sat down with Dr. Phil Monday. Avery's story is the focus of the hugely popular Netflix documentary series "Making a Murderer." Hartman says she wrote to Avery after watching the documentary telling him she though he was innocent.
He wrote back, and the relationship progressed from there. They got engaged before they had ever met in person.
"That's what I fell in love with him right off the bat -- that he could be in this predicament but be so selfless and offer that support to me without asking for it in return," Hartman said.
Tomorrow Steven Avery answers questions about the engagement and new details about his case.
Part two of the Dr. Phil interview airs at 3 p.m. Tuesday on WDRB.
