POLICE: Bonnieville, Ky. man charged with attempted murder for setting victim on fire

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Bonnieville, Ky. man is charged with attempted murder for allegedly setting a person on fire.

Jason Kitzero, 39, was arrested on Monday. According to a release, Kentucky State Police received a call Sunday around 11:20 a.m. stating that someone had poured gasoline on a victim and set the person on fire.

Police say the alleged incident happened on Falling Springs Church Road in Hart County. According to police, the caller met responding emergency workers with the victim at Huckleberry's Market in Bonnieville.

Authorities say when troopers arrived at the scene, they located the victim "suffering from serious burns to most of his body." The victim was taken by helicopter to U of L Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Kitzero was located and arrested in a wooded area of Dennison Ferry Road and taken to the Hart County Jail. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
