Planned Fern Creek shopping center gets nationally known designer

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A big step has been taken toward the construction of a $60 million retail center planned for Fern Creek.

Our partners at Business First say nationally-known firm Cooper Carry will design the South Pointe Commons shopping center. It will be located on the southeast corner of the Gene Snyder Freeway and Bardstown Road.

Developers plan to start clearing land and putting in infrastructure -- like water and sewer lines -- before the end of the year.

The first retailers are set to open in late 2017.
