Kentucky moves up cutoff date for kindergarten
The deadline will shift by two months.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky is moving up its cutoff date for kindergarten by two months in 2017.
That means a child must be five years old by August 1st, instead of the current October 1st deadline.
JCPS is allowing parents to file an appeal that will allow children who meet certain criteria to enter kindergarten, even if they don't turn 5 until October 31st.
