15-year-old indicted as co-defendant with Brice Rhodes for three murders

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 15-year-old has been charged with three counts of murder as a co-defendant with Brice Rhodes, including the slayings of teenage brothers Larry Ordway and Maurice Gordon.

A Jefferson County grand jury indicted Anjuan Carter on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Police say Rhodes, Carter and another juvenile murdered Larry, 14, and Maurice, 16, and dumped their bodies in the Shawnee neighborhood. They had been beaten and stabbed, their bodies badly burned.

Rhodes, 25, killed the two brothers because he feared they would snitch about his involvement in the early May shooting death of Christopher Jones, according to police. Rhodes is currently in jail on a $1 million bond in connection with those cases.

Carter, who was arrested in May, will be arraigned Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court. His bond was set at $250,000 cash.

Defense attorney Ryan Vantrease, who represents, Carter, said, "We are looking forward to having this litigated and resolved for Anjuan as quickly as possible because of his young age."

Another juvenile arrested in the case has not yet been charged as an adult.
