LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities say a Louisville man tried to escape from the custody of Louisville Metro Corrections officers by climbing into the ceiling of an area hospital.
According to a criminal citation, 26-year-old Brandon Doyle was already in custody on Sunday, Oct. 9, when he was taken to University Hospital.
Authorities say that while he was inside the restroom at the hospital, Doyle climbed into the ceiling tiles in an effort to escape from a corrections officer.
He was eventually apprehended again, but not before leading officers on a chase.
Doyle allegedly caused damage to "numerous areas of the ceiling." He now faces charges of second degree escape and second degree criminal mischief in connection with that incident.
Doyle was already facing numerous charges -- including theft of identity, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a forged instrument. He is currently being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
