LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville Metro Police officer has been arrested for the second time in a matter of weeks, according to court documents.

Dezmon Moore, age 27, was originally arrested on Monday, Sept. 5, one day after he was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident with his wife. Police say he got into an argument with her, and when she decided to leave, he allegedly grabbed her purse and keys, telling her that she wasn't going to take the car. At that point, police say Moore grabbed her by the arm, "causing pain and visible injury."

He then allegedly threw a bottle against the wall.

Police say Moore's wife went outside and called Louisville Metro Police. According to the arrest warrant, she suffered a bruise, swelling and soreness to her arm.

A warrant was issued for Moore's arrest on Sept. 5, and he was taken into custody later that day. He was charged with fourth degree assault. He was later released on his own recognizance and ordered not to have contact with the victim.

But according to an arrest warrant issued on Friday, Moore failed to live up to the terms of his release. Police say that since the no-contact order was issued, Moore has been in contact with his wife in person, via text and via mail correspondence.

According to the warrant, these incidents took place from Oct. 1 to Oct. 6. Police say Moore used an unknown phone number to send his wife numerous text messages, and that he placed a card and copies of pages from a book about relationships -- with certain passages highlighted -- in her mailbox. At one point, police say Moore's wife found a crumpled up picture of her and her three children in her tennis shoe.

On Oct. 6, police say she awoke to find Moore standing over her while she was in bed. He allegedly told her that he was allowed to be there -- and police say she recorded part of the conversation on her phone.

Moore was arrested on Friday and charged with violating the conditions of his release, as well as harassing communications.

Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says Moore is an LMPD officer. He has been placed on administrative reassignment.
