LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Paying tribute to Muhammad Ali nearly benched one of the NFL's best wide receivers.
Antonio Brown tweeted pictures of his Nike cleats on Thursday. They feature Ali's face, a butterfly, a bee and the words "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
The Pittsburgh Steeler wore the shoes Sunday for two drives against the Jets. That's when the NFL reportedly threatened to bench Brown if he didn't take them off, so he changed into plain black-and-yellow cleats.
The NFL requires that players wear shoes with cleats matching their team's colors.
